Waste
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1995 and 2011
This is the day
When it all falls into place
You’ve caught a lucky break
And the cards are yours’ to play
One more compromise
And then you'll draw the line
Well here come the excuses
And the mutually exclusives
It’s the price you pay
For the life you waste
It all slips away
And the light begins to fade
And that time to seize the day
Will never come again
Your moment in the sun
Came and then was gone
The crowd has all moved on
And left you on your own
It’s the price you pay
For the life you waste

Atmosphere
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1992
The wheels turn and everything revolves
I watch you rise, I watch you turn to go
The penny drops and now I finally know
That I've hit the point of overload
I can feel the Atmosphere
I can feel the Atmosphere
And as you move towards the door
I feel I want you even more
I know, you're just a joy rider
You take, whatever you desire
I can feel the Atmosphere
I can feel the Atmosphere
You tear it all apart
You rip into my heart
I can feel the Atmosphere
I can feel the Atmosphere

Summer Rain
Words © Tim Hudspith, December 2000
Music © James Bosworth, December 2000
Even bitumen melts
In a heat wave
And you get no relief
Even in the shade
You drive down to the coast
To the cool sea spray
But you get so burnt
Your skin peels away
The sun beats down
The electricity fails
You can’t get to sleep
So your temper frays
Then the clouds build up
And turn black and grey
And from the sky comes falling
Summer rain
Summer rain
Summer rain
Summer rain
You can smell the earth
Come alive again
You let it soak your skin
And run down your face
It clears the air
And cleans the dust away
Nothing feels as good as
Summer rain
Summer rain
Summer rain
Summer rain

Guillotine
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, June 2005
The madman shouts his warning
The preacher starts his calling
The angels start their falling
As I wake to meet the mourning
Soon the rivers turn to blood
First a trickle then a flood
The ravens are descending
Picking eyes from happy endings
My friends all turn to strangers
And safety turns to danger
I can hear the sound of sirens
I can hear the women crying
As I walk a crooked line
Between giving up and lying
There is a shadow over me
Like a stain I cannot clean
Then darling you
Come cutting through
Like a guillotine
Like an angel sent to rescue me
Come rescue me
The sky is bloody crimson
And from every dimension
Everybody seems demented
And filled with ill intentions
As we hit the midnight hour
And the dogs begin to howl
There is panic in this town
The signs are all around
Then darling you
Come cutting through
Like a guillotine
Like an angel sent to rescue me
Come rescue me
Come rescue me
Come rescue me

Wind your window down
So you can smell the sea
As we drive along the esplanade
And catch the midnight breeze
No one’s gonna sleep tonight
The summer moon is hanging high
So let's drive down to the esplanade
And in the ocean we will dive
Wind your window down
So you can smell the sea
As we drive along the esplanade
And catch the midnight breeze
The midnight breeze
The midnight breeze

Discovery
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1992
Look to heaven see the sky
I am humbled by the sight
Of all the diamonds and the pearls
Shining down upon the world
I turn to see your eyes
And I am wrapped up in delight
Then I recoil in fright
The chill of winter takes the night
Discovery, I've learnt that I deny
Discovery, the tenderness inside
Discovery, and even when I try
Discovery, my feelings are a lie
My feelings are a lie
You offer me your hand
You're making no demands
I can't seem to decide
So like a sinner I just hide
Discovery, I've learnt that I deny
Discovery, the tenderness inside
Discovery, and even when I try
Discovery, my feelings are a lie
My feelings are a lie
My feelings are a lie

Medicine Man

Come to me my love
I will cure your pain
Come to me my love
I will keep you safe
I’ll be your medicine man
I’ll be your cure for pain
I’ll be your medicine man
I’ll be your cure for pain
Come my love we will never part
I will always bear your heavy heart
Come my love in you I see
A soul to keep mine company
I’ll be your medicine man
I’ll be your cure for pain
I’ll be your medicine man
I’ll be your cure for pain

Masquerade
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, December 31st, 1991
In my imperfect circle, is a merry-go-round
A never-ending spiral, which always hits the ground
While waiting for the nightfall, I watch the sunset fade
As I recall a feeling, which ends the masquerade
I’m dancing on a wire, I’m running on a blade
I can recognise a liar, I can only try and save
A sense of desperation, a willingness to fight
My strength is my salvation, it will be my guiding light
Leave me alone
I’m overriding fire
I’m better on my own
Containing it inside
Within a perfect circle, I would reach and touch the sky
Moving ever upwards, with strength enough to fly
With truth as my companion, and love right by my side
I would surely find salvation, I would never be denied
Leave me alone
I’m overriding fire
I’m better on my own
Containing it inside

Rivertown
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1988
A rivertown with soil red
And weeping willows 'side the river's edge
Underneath the bridge we'd talk
Beside the river's edge we'd walk
In muddy water we did dive
In a disused quarry we did climb
On summer days we'd never rest
Now circumstances would suggest
We followed the river down to the sea
Together washed away we were longing to be free
Longing to be free
Where did you go and how have you been?
What are your thoughts and what have you seen?
Did you stay on the shore or did you decide
To leave the land and into the water dive?
We followed the river down to the sea
Together washed away we were longing to be free
Longing to be free
We followed the river down to the sea
Together washed away we were longing to be free
Longing to be free

Heaven Knows
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1988
Here I go
What I'm doing Heaven knows
I take my place beneath the sun
But I'm not the only one
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
But here I go
Here I go
As I walk beneath the rain
And I join in the parade
All the faces seem the same
They're just playing all of their games
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
But here I go
Here I go
Taking no-one for my friend
How can they be there in the end?
Halcyon days have come and gone
And I'm a thousand miles from home
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
And what I'm doing Heaven knows
But here I go
Here I go

Low
Words and music © Tim Hudspith, 1995
You're coming down
You're feeling low
Look around
You're on your own
You feel bad
You're moving slow
You'd give a damn
If you weren't so low
You feel tired
You feel old
You're fire
Is turning cold
So bad
To be alone
You'd give a damn
If you weren't so low
You're coming down
You're feeling low
You're coming down
You're feeling low

Music © James Bosworth, 1995
I am feeling, so detached
I cannot breath, I am trapped
I feel tension, taking hold
Disconnected, I lose contral
All my hopes, and all my dreams
Evaportate, and dissapear
Like a star, all red and blue
I am falling, losing altitude
Here they come, the dogs of war
Hear them howling, at my door
I am lost, and I am breaking
Like a star, I am fading
I am falling, I'm losing altitude
I am falling, I'm losing altitude
